I bought two of these, based on a Speed Cube Review that said that it, like most Cyclone Boys products, was not bad, not great, but good for the price. The first loosened up quite well after applying lube (10k Traxxas CRC), and lasted several years. A couple of small internals disappeared somehow during normal use, so I bought another.

The replacement isn't as good. The screws were rubbing against the center pieces when I turned the middle layer, making a clicking/grinding sound. Tightening the screws stopped the noise, but now the cube seems a bit tight. Lube helped, but I don't know if the cube will ever be as fast and loose as the first was.

At this price I don't expect manufacturers to spend a lot of time tuning the puzzle. You can expect to have to do this yourself, no matter which budget cube you buy.
