very good quality, smooth plastic, and great turning. I got this puzzle on sale, so it was only $5 for me! great deal for sure. if you can solve a regular crazy 3x3, this is not much different - just make sure you get those inner corners first and you're all set. for some reason though, I found this step much harder on this puzzle than on the regular crazy 3x3
